Read all about them!
First off, happy 8 months 'Lil D! Latest photos here!
Baby is doing great. He really is very happy, only cries when he's going to the bathroom, needs food, or mommy leaves the room. He's on three "solid" meals a day which we change up to include cereal, fruits, and veggies. This last week we've expanded to egg yolks and tried yogurt. The yogurt was a hit on Saturday, not so much yesterday. Out of everything he has tried, I'm okay if he doesn't like ONE item. The tally so far is; sweet potato, various cereals, carrots, squash, peas, green beans, bananas, avocado, egg yolk, apples, pears, and little finger cracker/cookies.
We had a heat wave this weekend but made the best of it. Friday night we went to Josh and Lindsay's for an outdoor viewing party of the Giant's game, that was fun! Saturday was cleaning day, I tackled the kitchen from top to bottom and dusted and vacuumed our bedroom while Sean did lots of yard work and finished up his planting beds that we're going to use for herbs and maybe some veggies! I also set up the new convertible car seat in the RAV. This was a mini disaster, as it didn't really fit in the backseat unless you had one of the seats pushed up pretty far (I'll come back to this story later, or in a separate post). Saturday night we went to dinner at Black Angus because we had a gift card from work for Sean's departure. We both half joked that at least we can afford to eat since we had a gift card. Ha... Sunday we woke up (some earlier than others) and took a ride over to Babies r Us and BevMo, to spend another gift card. Costco was put off until today for Sean to do with his other errands, as Sundays are generally Hell to navigate through. Sloanie also came home very early Sunday morning (like 1am, I was beyond down for the count at that hour) from Washington, D.C. and seemed to have a really great time. We're very happy to have been able to make this trip happen for her. Hopefully she walked away learning something, aside from which roommate was the bigger pain in the butt and that the food was pretty crappy.
BFing update, because you're sitting on the edge of your seats waiting! Last week I successfully manged to cut out one pumping session out of two while at work. Over the weekend I did not pump at all, and yesterday, I only nursed twice. My goal is here or near! I wanted to eliminate pumping all together, as I wasn't getting the output that I wanted, so it seemed more of a timesuck than anything else. I am okay if I exclusively nurse him twice a day, (which is how yesterday went) 7am and 6pm This schedule of twice a day also works for our weekdays; once in the morning, once in the evenings. If my body can keep up with production for twice a day feedings, I'll take that, at least for now. The rest of his feedings are obviously formula, please don't think he's only eating twice a day. Sooner than later I will wean away from those feedings as well. For now I'm going to focus on enjoying being pump-free! (I did bring my pump to work as a security blanket, or in case I get uncomfortable).
Sean had a couple of interviews last week, one of which he unfortunately got notified he did not get the job for. The second job sounds like it would be very challenging, but a good opportunity. If he is a contender, it will move fast; he'll meet with a VP tomorrow and have an offer same day and start work on Wednesday. I'm remaining very optimistic based on everything he has let me know about the position and interview, so we shall see. I know in my deepest bones that something will happen sooner than later, so I really hope he gets it!!!
That about wraps everything up so far. The weather is giving me a bit of Spring fever which puts me in a good mood. This good mood usually lasts about five days before I begin wishing for Fall and cooler weather (considering we live in California, and the weather is bi-polar, I may have my wishes of cold weather tomorrow, you just never know!).
