Experiment Day Four

We've still been using the formula "trick" at night. One night he didn't take more than a suck and then just passed out, but otherwise he's been having around 2 oz. and is satisfied. We've also implemented somewhat of a nightly "routine" which seems to be helping a lot. We aim to have him down in bed between 10-11 p.m., until work begins, that is. Somewhere between 8 and 9 we do a warm bath (soap every other night). After bath we take a few minutes to dry off, relax in the dim room, a little lotion, then he just kicks back with me in just his diaper. I found that he really is happy without his clothes on, and well, I am not daring to go without diaper! If he falls asleep, then we'll let him rest, his clock still wakes him up for a feeding no later than 10:30, then we give him the bottle (I run off to pump), he eats, and falls asleep. While he doesn't love being swaddled, it no doubt helps him sleep longer. Yesterday on a trip to BRU, I decided to buy one of those SwaddleMe blankets. Best purchase so far! I've had a few of these blankets, however, the newborn sizes never fit him even after he was born. I bought the size Large, and, viola! The baby burrito in full effect! I put him down in the bassinet at 12:30 (he fell asleep at 11, but the blanket was in the dryer) and he didn't wake up until 4:20! We nursed, and then went back to bed until 9am. Ah!!!! Four consecutive hours in a row of sleep, refreshing! I am hoping for more success tonight. Bathing and swaddling, we love you.

Tomorrow, Oktoberfest, here we come! Should have some good pictures if we remember to take the camera out. This is what 'D will be wearing!
