A good weekend!

Too short, as always, that is my biggest complaint, weekends are just too damn short!
  • Friday: I worked. Sean and I had a spaghetti dinner, Sloan was at her moms, 'Lil D was so tired and we ate later than usual, so he crashed out early.
  • Saturday: Got up between 7 and 8. Took a ride around our immediate area taking names of potential companies for Sean to send resumes out to. There is a lot of companies in our backyard! Went to Verizon, unsuccessful in mission. Went to Sprint, was successful in that mission. Had a CT Scan, I am not dying! Went to my old work for lunch, yummy! Relaxed at home. Had a finger food dinner of bread, olive oil and balsamic vinegar, Swiss and brie cheeses, prosciutto (and liverwurst for Sean), salami, grapes, and wine. I stayed up until almost 11!
  • Sunday: had a big breakfast of bacon and eggs. Planned on going out to N. First Street to get more names of companies, but it was rainy, so we decided to stay in. Made tentative plans with Scott and Renee to see them and sample Scott's home brewed beer. 'Lil D and I laid down to take a nap, successfully! I never have been able to nap when he naps. We were both tired enough though, that he was kind of snuggled next to me on the bed, it was awesome! Woke up, ran to the store for some last minute items, Scott and Renee came over. Had beers, ate sushi and shrimp tempura and egg rolls. Had some more beer. Watched The Mist.
  • I also experimented with baking my own sweet potatoes and pureeing them for 'Lil D. He really really seemed to like them! I feel a lot better cooking and pureeing food on my own for him instead of all jarred food. 1) It is cheaper 2) It's healthier 3) more flavorful 4) I just feel good about giving him Real Produce. Sure, I have the jars and will use them on occasion and for traveling and transporting. For daily food, I am going to try to keep up making our own and freezing. We'll see how it goes! We also got one of those Mesh Feeders and put avocado in them. He seemed to really like it! It gives him the control of eating and not choking. I thin it will come in handy even more so a bit later when he's able to eat a bigger variety but to keep from choking on too big a bit or any pits and seeds, as well as for frozen things while teething!
That was the bulk of the weekend. Wasn't super exciting, but we got a lot of things taken care of. I think that as a hobby we'll be looking into brewing our own beer as well!
